The Foodbank provides food to individuals and families who would otherwise go without. Food parcels are provided as emergency provisions. Other agencies are frequently engaged to ensure ongoing support where-ever needed.
Total care budget(TCB)
The Total Care Budgeting service provides a budgeting service for those who find themselves in difficulty and are finding it difficult "to get on their feet." Clients money is received and administered on their behalf by the City Mission and used to pay off their debts. This service involves strict budgeting and advocacy on the clients behalf.
Ezee meals are cooked frozen meals which are available to everyone in the community. Ezee meals are ideal for elderly or disabled people or even those who are too busy to make quailty homestyle meals.Once a week delivery is available for a small fee Please call (06) 3452139 for more details
Zest for Mission
Located at 163 Victoria Avenue, Zest for Mission sells quality donated second hand goods to the community. Anything from electrical equipment to clothes, books and toys etc. Zest for Mission relies heavily on the generosity of the community in terms of donated of goods. Friendship Meals are a cooked midday meal provided 5 days a week,each day at a different venue. A $3 donation/ koha helps toward the cost of the meal. Please call (06) 3452139 for more details.
City Missions Christmas Lunch is held every year on Christmas day at the Wanganui War Memorial hall. This is a fun and inculsive enviroment for everyone.
City mission has two garden plots, which are tended to by volunteers. Vegetables grown in the gardens go to the foodbank, friendship meals and the Christmas Day lunch.
